Non solo la Calabria non ha grandi musei nazionali di rilievo, a parte quello di Reggio Calabria, che però é sempre chiuso, e custodisce i Bronzi di Riace, ma ancor peggio, la Calabria non ha proprio musei d'arte contemporanea, e questo non stupisce dato il fatto che:
a) da anni ormai non si conosce un artista di fama che provenga da queste terre.
b) la Calabria è una delle regioni più povere dell'area Euro e direi che la presenza o meno di musei d'arte contemporanea siano il problema minore.
Nello specifico, Strongoli, in provincia di Crotone, non é un sito di enorme interesse culturale. Ci si chiede, quindi a che pro questa spesa enorme di rilancio dell'immagine calabra, in un non luogo e soprattutto col nulla intorno. Ma ancora: che opere verranno esposte? Nessuno lo sa. Sta di fatto che la struttura, che ospiterà anche un centro convegni (quali) e un ristorante panoramico (mi immagino ci faranno solo matrimoni e comunioni), é molto bella. Forse non era questa la posizione migliore in cui ubicarla?

One wonders, then what good is this huge expense of re-launch of Calabria, in a non-place and above all with nothing around. But again, which works will be exhibited? Nobody knows. The fact is that the structure, which will also host a conference center (for which conference?) and a panoramic restaurant (I guess we will just see weddings and communions there), is very beautiful. Perhaps this was not the best location to put it?
